Straight Outta the Bible
You Ask, "How Could A Loving God Do That?"

From the Old Testament Book of Ezekial, chapter 18 --

Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear, you Israelites: Is my way unjust? Is it not your ways that are unjust? If a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin, they will die for it; because of the sin they have committed they will die. But if a wicked person turns away from the wickedness they have committed and does what is just and right, they will save their life. Because they consider all the offenses they have committed and turn away from them, that person will surely live; they will not die. Yet the Israelites say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Are my ways unjust, people of Israel? Is it not your ways that are unjust? “Therefore, you Israelites, I will judge each of you according to your own ways, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent! Turn away from all your offenses; then sin will not be your downfall. Rid yourselves of all the offenses you have committed, and get a new heart and a new spirit. Why will you die, people of Israel? For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!"

(Ezekiel 18:25-32)

Superman Vs. The Supper Man

Jesus, Lord over the last supper, also fed many thousands, miraculously, more than once (Matthew 16:9-10).

Superman couldn't even do that.

Jesus is the real Superman. But, truly, he's the Supper Man.

I wonder if any 'soup kitchens' have this bit of scripture, say, on a plaque inside their facility? Seems like a good reminder and guide to me for such endeavors.

The Gospel of Matthew, chapter 14, verses 16-21 says:

"Jesus replied, 'They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.' 'We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,' they answered. 'Bring them here to me,' he said. And he directed the people to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish and looking up to heaven, he gave thanks and broke the loaves. Then he gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the people. They all ate and were satisfied, and the disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. The number of those who ate was about five thousand men, besides women and children."

(Matthew 14:16-21)
