The Time Has Come, the Time Is Now

 

Happy New Year! The time has come! Roll with it! Life is good, when we let it be.

Here are some verses to help you focus better for the coming year. Well, they help me, and I hope they can help you:

 

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows."
(James 1:17)

"A blessing for you, because the Lord your God loves you."
(Deuteronomy 23:5)

"Give thanks to the LORD, call on his name; make known among the nations what he has done."
(1 Chronicles 16:8)

"Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore I will wait for him."
(Lamentations 3:22-24)

Within, Without

 

When God (via the Holy Spirit) Lives within us, we are to live without:

“Pray without ceasing.”
(1 Thessalonians 5:17)

"Do everything without complaining or arguing."
(Philippians 2:14)

"...without partiality, and without hypocrisy."
(James 3:17)

 

Jesus May Not Be Santa Claus, But...

I've heard it said that "Jesus is not Santa Claus." Meaning He is not there simply to give us stuff. While I know that's true, still, there are these verses to contemplate:


Psalm 5:3 says:

"In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation."

There's also James 4:2, which says you do not have because you do not ask.
