Who Is God Referring to
As 'Israel' In the Bible?

The New Testament says that believers in Christ are considered to be, "Israel," and that being part of Israel no longer comes from your bloodline, but from the Spirit of God (Romans 9). That being said, here's an Old Testament verse to ponder:

"This is what the Lord says--
your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel:
'I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you what is good for you
and leads you along the paths you should follow.'
"

(Isaiah 48:17)

Many unbelievers say that the Holy Bible is irrelevant today. I can see their point -- and even agree somewhat.

I mean, to me a book on brain surgery techniques, or diagnostics of a nuclear power plant -- or even splicing two flowers together to create something new -- is irrelevant in my life at this moment.

But if I chose one of those paths, and wanted to learn the better ways, then the specifics about those fields -- those books, tips, techniques, and their insight -- would become highly relevant.

Relevant and Essential

For Believers -- followers of Jesus Christ -- the Holy Bible is not only relevant, but essential.

Christ is our Redeemer.

Read it again. This bit of scripture says...

"I am the Lord your God,
who teaches you what is good for you
and leads you along the paths you should follow.
"

Relevant? I'd say so.

God himself is telling us He teaches us. How? Through the God-breathed, God-Inspired (2 Timothy 3:16) word given to us in the Holy bible.

Why Are You Fighting It

If you call yourself a Christian, it's highly relevant. Just accept it, and quit fussin' in your worldly ways. ;-)

Begin reading it, ultimately you'll find you enjoy it -- and you'll definitely benefit from it.

And may the Almighty God, Lord of heaven and earth, Father to His Son our Redeemer bless your reading.
